Schiavo Case Still an Issue Even After Death
The unfortunate death of Terry Schiavo is still an issue
with lawmakers even after her death. We shouldn't let
the issue rest. I think that Terry Schiavo's parents
shouldn't have kept trying to have the feeding tube
re-inserted. There are many people in hospitals all
like Schaivo was. Their loved ones believe that a part
of the brain that has been killed can' come back to life,
even after doctors disagree. It is a shame that these
people die, but keeping them on a feeding tube won't help.
The real message to Schiavo's story isn't in her death.
It is in what caused her heart attack and ensuing
brain damage. Eating disorders are a serious problem.
They are difficult to indentify at times. People with
eating disorders have an illness. We need to reach
out to these people and help them. This is what
Schiavo's legacy should be.
